About Food in Japan (Winter Edition)

Hi reader, thanks for sticking around.

This will be the final post for my winter Japan trip in Jan 2018 (will have one more summary+general post with all the links of previous posts inside). And the finale post will be dedicated to food food fooooood that we had tasted in Japan. Please don't mind the overlapping food pictures that I might have included in my previous Japan trip posts.

KYOTO

Kobuton Ramen

This definitely is one of the food that I miss the most ever since I came back from Japan. Even though I did visit Kyoto again (will be blogging about my second trip to Japan very soon I hope), I didn't get to eat it again as it was closed when I visited. Plus this shop isn't near to any of the famous spots or station. I hope I get to eat it again soon :')

Limited edition Suntory Horoi Peach flavor

Okay I can't really drink alcohol cuz I dunno when the rashes will attack. But luckily the alcohol content is low enough in this one so I'm good to go hahaha~ No rash and won't drunk hehe

Musoshin Ramen

Another ramen shop that I really really love. Big thanks and kisses and hugs to my friend Andrea who came across this shop and recommended to me after she came back ❤ Definitely don't want to miss this shop serving black sesame ramen!

Kyozuan

Best tofu ice-cream ever ❤

Kura Sushi

THE satisfaction of just randomly taking any sushi plate without looking at the price. Perks of dining in 100 yen sushi shop. One advise: do not take their uni sushi.

Todai Ramen

One of the ramen shop in Ramen Street inside Kyoto station serving tasty ramen with free flow raw eggs.

Saryo Tsujiri (Teahouse Tsujiri)

The famous tea house in Kyoto. Tried their tea noodles and winter limited tea noodles in soy soup, and their signature parfait. Taste were okay but the price were on the higher side.

Ichiran Ramen

HAHA never thought that my first ichiran ramen experience would be in Kyoto instead of the long queue store in Dotonbori. Glad that we chose to eat in Kyoto instead, skipping all the queue. We had to sit separately though.

Soymilk ice cream

Have forgotten the shop name as we just went in after seeing the cute food display. The real ice cream came out exactly the same as the food display haha~ The ice cream taste good but not as good as the previous tofu ice cream I mentioned.

McD Breakfast

No idea why, but it REALLY is coincidence that everytime I'm in Japan, the ongoing HappyMeal toy will always be Rilakkuma (not that I have anything to complain though ❤❤❤❤❤❤). That's why we will always have one meal of McD HappyMeal during our trip hahahahaha~ See the toy so cuteeee ❤❤~~~ By the way, I really like that they give milk for Happy Meal, healthier alternative to softdrinks.

Amazake

Amazake first try! It is actually a low alcohol drink made from fermented rice. Best drinks to make yourself warm during winter!

Oden

Maybe I sound exaggerating, but I'm almost in tears when I saw this oden stall. We were in Yasaka Shrine and the cold was barely bearable anymore. And then the savior arrived~~~~ hahaha! Best food in Oden is of course the Daikon (raddish), but the cabbage roll really surprised me as it was so so so yummy!!

Sashimi stick in Nishiki Market

Surprisingly quite delicious and really fresh! The sashimi were slightly marinated and it was really yummy with a little bit of lemon juice. I chose octopus stick while my friends chose salmon.

Hi-Lite Shokudo

We actually came across this restaurant purely by accident. It was so cold at night and we had no planned restaurant/food to eat so we just googled any nearby restaurant and went in. And this shop... is so so so cheap! This set that I took (crab croquette set) cost 500yen only! Okay, maybe not so cheap if you convert the currency back to RM, but set meal like this could easily hit 700-1000yen in Japan.I think the price here is cheaper to accommodate students (there's a university nearby). Anyway the food was hearty and delicious.

Dango

Sadly I had forgotten where I had this... and again sadly the sweet dango is not to my liking.

Huge crabstick at Yasaka Shrine

Honest speaking this is just a normal crabstick. They brushed a little bit of sauce of your choice and grilled it for a while. Nevertheless it was still a satisfying food to be eaten lol.

Konbini food and unhealthy food alert!!!! Hahaha here comes the konbini food and snacks~

Cupnoodles

Japan cupnoodles are must try! We got all these special edition of cupnoodles from the Instant Ramen Museum (check out my post about the museum here). I forgot the flavor for this one (I think is shoyu ramen flavor) but the fact that it really has a piece of char-siu inside really amazed me HAHAHA (sorry la I grew up in a place where cupnoodles only have cup and noodles literally).

This milk seafood flavor is my favourite out of the others! Usually you only can find the common seafood flavor in their marts. So when we saw this special flavor, BUY!

The museum has few vending machines selling special edition of cupnoodles. We had fun playing(?) the vending machine and buying cupnoodles hahaha~

Can you see the colors?? There're corn, egg, octopus, crabstick, onions etc. The milk actually toned down the saltiness (seafood flavor is actually quite salty) and it was so so so yummzzzz ❤ How I wish I get to buy this again :'(  I did try to find this in konbini but I never see it outside of the museum seriously.

This one is actually udon(?) but not as chewy, just the noodles are broader. Plus they have a tempura inside HAHAHA. I quite like it too hehe~

Lawson food

Declaring my love ❤ to Lawson mart (sorry Family Mart and 7-11) cuz they sell the best food among all marts. Love you Lawson ❤!

The legendary deep fried curry bread (I think I first saw this in Kuroshitsuji anime haha)

Fluffy and chewy mochi bun with cream inside made from Hokkaido milk

Milk pudding. THIS.IS.SO.DAMN.GOOD!!! ❤

Choco-greentea pie (Not from Lawson). As you can see it is a collab with Pablo but it taste meh :\

That's all for my blog about my first ever trip to Japan in winter (Jan 2018). After so long finally managed to finish blogging all about it. There will be another blogpost with all the links included inside, just a short summary though.

See ya! xoxo
