Cameron Highlands trip + food post
Hey guys long time no blog! Been busy with the semester and now finally got the time to blog about the family cameron trip (which was like so long ago ady =w= ) and combining it with food blog~
The Cameron trip was super fun! We get to live in a small apartment called ArandaNova (yay yay~) I love their unit, small but comfy and super cold at night OwO!! It is quite new and they have restaurants and shoplots under the hotels and apartment units. But it is opened not long so most of the shoplots are still empty. However, they do have few restaurants and cafes ready for business dy!
Some view of the outside of ArandaNova:
Sadly.. i dunno where all my Cameron pics went so I only left some of the pics to post TwT
I'm dragging this blogpost for so long I even forget what I wanna write dy... QwQ!!!! But yup, there's surely a routine visit that should be done when we visit Cameron.. Kea Farm, NightMarket, Boh Tea Factory yada yada~~ This time we went to a new spot that we never been to before (I've been there with friends though XD)
Cameron Big Red Strawberry Farm~~ They have one long walkway up to a cafeteria with strawberries planted on the right side and very fresh salad greens and butterhead on the left side. Some pictures from the Farm:
Sushi Tei (Ipoh Parade):
Sushi Tei in Parade is one of my favourite place to have Japanese cuisine. Not only they serve fresh sashimis, they serve food with portion which are worth the price and make you full! Well, maybe I never have better Japanese food that I can criticize this one... But in my heart Zento and Akamomiji are definitely the best two place to go for Japanese food in Ipoh. Unlike some Japanese restaurants which charge you a lot but serve you food which you might needa go for supper after having it.. XD
Speaking of Japanese food, though I'm a huge fan, actually I don't enjoy ALL types of Japanese dishes.
For example I dont't really enjoy noodles.. I prefer rice over noodles. I love bento and don so much.. especially sashimi don, I end up ordering same thing whenever I visit Japanese restaurant. I don't really eat handroll and I won't order Japanese curry (cuz I will order sashimi don no matter what XD)
In summary, what I really love and enjoy is SUSHI and SASHIMI and SASHIMI DON!!!!

Very fresh and green!!!!
Can't find a four-leaf clovers her...
Fishyyyyy~~
We had our teabreak at the cafeteria~ Ordered strawberry milkshake, chocolate fondue, strawberry cheesecake and fresh butterhead juice (Ewwwwww ME can't stand the smell and taste and sight of it). From the cafeteria you can still head higher into some flower-viewing walkway with some really pretty hibiscus and orchids and some flowers that I don't recognise (XD) there~ But 'cuz it was raining that time.. we didn't spend long at the flower viewing walkway.
NEXT, the first-ever BOH tea farm and factory~ It was seriously torturing (but fun) to visit there. Torturing 'cuz cars were not allowed to drive up to the factory parking (they told us the parking was full, wonder if it is real 'cuz on the way still saw some cars driving up). So ME and my family parked at lower area of the hill (cry~~) and we walked up to the factory!! I dunno I walked for how many km but the journey almost disable my legs... and dunno why there were cars driving up.. curious.. conspiracy ke? (joking)
Kay, after we reached the factory we finally got some rest and had some tea~~ Even visited their factory of tea-leaf processing. But the smell of the tea leaves in the factory was quite awful.. not aromatic at all.. Of course it was aromatic after all the machine-machine processing~
Another terrifying experience for me is after the factory visit, my family decided to climb again, up to the top of the tea-leaf hill to get the overview of the tea farm. ME seriously screaming (NOOOO x1000 times) in heart.. but I can't be staying alone down at the hill doing nothing, so I followed (crycry~~) Another dunno how many meters up and we got to see some breath-taking views, of course the journey was to tiring i almost gave up in the middle of it :P Need to improve on my stamina seriously.
Some pictures at the top of the hill:
Okay that's all for Cameron trip~~~ Here comes the food post~
We went Akamomiji 紅葉 Japanese Restaurant for dinner (my mum's treat yay~~~). It was our first time to Akamomiji and as expected the food was really yummy!!
Avocado salmon roll
(One of my favourite!! I have always love sushi roll with avocado and salmon in it!! The best!!!)
The salmon bento (Salmon flakes on rice + salmon sashimi + tempura + potato salad + miso soup and watermelon)
Hmmm the salmon flakes were actually quite dryyyyy and the salmon flavor was not that strong.. can improve on that. The prawn tempura was really fresh!!!!! Super yummy! Goodjob on the tempura and sashimi (Y)
On the left: Akamomiji signature roll (the outer layer was thin-sliced cucumber which makes the roll really crunchy~ not really sure what's inside though but the rolls gave a little heat)
On the right: assorted sushi~!! (Salmon sushi, Maguro sushi, Tako sushi and Ebiko sushi) Have to say again their sashimi were really fresh!!! Major love of their maguro sushi!
Grilled teriyaki calamari~~~~ (yum yum!! First time order it and I already fell in love with it!) Dad's garlic fried rice at the back :D
Overall review and comment on Akamomiji: The food was not bad (except for the salmon bento hehe). The price was a little higher but in my humble opinion the quality of food makes it worth the price.
Alley John (Kampar):
Alley John is always famous for its Japanese-style crepe in Kampar. So when it started having rice meals on its menu I was having doubts about it. But one day my dad brought us there for dinner and it was a big surprise!! Their rice setmeal was delicious!!!!!!!! I mean super delicious!!!!
This is one of their rice setmeal: Nanban chicken rice (comes with tamago, miso soup and coleslaw with salad dressing) This is by far my favourite set!
Sushi Tei (Ipoh Parade):

California rolls (I love california rollsssss <3 ) Both rolls were using combination of sashimi and avocado with other ingredients. The red one was maguro rolls and the orange one was of course salmon rolls. I prefer the maguro one over the salmon one cuz of my personal preference. I just simply love tuna sashimi~~
Haagen Dazs:
Hohoho this was the first time I ate Haagen Dazs~~~ their ice-cream (they didn't name it ice-cream.. i forgot what.. sorbet?? ) was really good! And not sweet at all~ (I can't stand sweet ice-cream.. it will cause a lump feeling in my throat). The fruit flavors were really delicious too~ very concentrated fruit flavor i feel :D
The ice-cream (sorbet?) we ordered.. One was forgot-what-berry flavor and the other is chocolate(?) flavor (i forgot.... T_T) Anyway.. it was NICEEEEE~~~
Alright, finally done with this blogpost. I think I spent almost half a year to write it LOL!! Wonder how long will I take to write the next one teehee~
